World Seed Program Seed Distribution A new and more effective seed distribution system!
Since 1982 the World Seed Program distributed, free of charge, small packets of agroforestry tree seeds and technical information to support small-scale reforestation efforts around the developing world. For over 25 years, seeds were shipped from our USA office to those who requested them. However, increasing costs of delivery and shipment restrictions limited our ability to continue with such shipments. Since 2009, the World Seed Program moved to a decentralized seed distribution system. Larger amounts of seeds are now being mailed directly from our seed suppliers to in-country organizations that have the capacity to re-distribute the seeds locally and provide technical advice and support to those receiving the seeds.
