World Seed Programs Small Grants Initiative

The World Seed Program has established a “Small Grants Initiative”

This initiative provides grants of US$ 500 to 1,500 to organizations in developing countries working on reforestation and agroforestry. The grants are provided within two categories:

  • Training in reforestation and agroforestry

These grants provide financial support to organizations that have the capacity to train local people in reforestation and agroforestry. Educating local people on reforestation practices and providing them with tree seeds generates enough momentum to significantly increase tree-planting practices at the local level.

  • Nursery equipment and basic working tools for reforestation efforts.

Poor local communities many times lack the necessary equipment to initiate tree-growing efforts. The lack of equipment such as water pumps or fencing and shading materials can prevent reforestation efforts from occurring.

To request application guidelines you can email your request to Pia Iolster, piolster@ic-nfp.org

Our audited financial statement and IRS 990 are available to the public. If you have any questions, comments or want additional information please send us an email. Please browse our webpage to learn more about our projects and how trees and water affect our environment and everyday lives.
